Round 3
ROUND 1 ROUND 2 ROUND 3 ROUND 4 ROUND 5 ROUND 6 ROUND 7

1 (65). STL — Demaryius Thomas, WR, Ga Tech
The Rams need to surround Clausen with some weapons if they go that way. Thomas runs the gauntlet from first to fifth round depending upon whom you ask. I think he’s worth a shot in three with his size and big-play ability.
2 (66). DET — Patrick Robinson, CB, FSU
The Lions needs some serious help at corner. Again, this is a player who could end up going much higher, but I think he’s a good fit in round three and can challenge for major PT early.
3 (67). TB — George Selvie, DE, USF
Might be a bit of a reach, and know one knows which George Selvie will show up in the NFL. But it’s hard to pass on a DE who played his college ball in the same stadium when you need pass rushers.
4 (68). KC — Jordan Shipley, WR, Texas
Shipley seems to be a guy the Chiefs have their eye on. He’s got the speed they covet, and he should be a great fit in the slot, along with boosting the return game.
5 (69). OAK — Jarrett Brown, QB, WVU
You don’t have to tell me this is too high, but this pick is set in stone if you ask me. Brown is an incredibly athletic quarterback with a big arm. His stock is rising and he’ll be a perfect project for Al Davis in case Jamarcus doesn’t pan out…
6 (70). PHI — Nate Allen, S, USF
The Eagles are in dire need of some safety help. Allen is incredible value here and could end up as one of the top safeties from this class.
7 (71). CLE — Jonathon Dwyer, RB, Ga Tech
The Browns need a back with some size. Jerome Harrison might have some staying power, but they’ll need a bruiser to complement him. This guy is more explosive than people think.
8 (72). BUF — Austen Lane, OLB, Murray State
He a great athlete that can probably start soon opposite Aaron Maybin in the new 3-4. If not, he might be able to bulk up and play down. Just a good piece for the transition.
9 (73). MIA — Koa Misi, OLB, Utah
The Dolphins could be without Jason Taylor and Joey Porter next season. Even if they’re still around, they’re not the same as they used to be. Misi is rocketing up boards and seems like a Parcells pick.
10 (74). JAX — Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama
The Jaguars still, yes still, need corner help. Arenas is a very heady player, with good instincts and great athleticism. If he were taller he’d be a first-round lock.
11 (75). CHI — Mike Johnson, OG, Alabama
If they don’t find a way to open some holes up front then Matt Forte will be nothing more than a whispered fantasy football story told by grandparents at bedtime.
12 (76). NYG — Reshad Jones, S, Georgia
Kenny Phillips might never be the same player. Either way, the Giants need more options at safety and Jones is a great value here.
13 (77). TEN — Dominique Franks, CB, Oklahoma
The Titans have a crush on Big 12 DBs and a huge hole at corner. Welcome to Nashville Mr. Franks. Please refrain from predictions of 60+ points.
14 (78). CAR — Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke
Panthers fans keep saying that they’ll be fine at DT. Maybe it’s time to actually address the position through the draft.
15 (79). SF — Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
Hometown hero with gaudy stats and a powerful running style. Just what the Niners need to complement Frank Gore’s shifty style.
16 (80). DEN — Danario Alexander, WR, Missouri
I think Brandon Marshall comes back, but either way adding a big physical wideout who can run routes in this system is a huge plus. Very productive, which fits the Josh McDaniels draft M.O.
17 (81). HOU — Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi State
Imagine how strange it’ll look to see Houston line up a big running back who can score from one yard out without fumbling. Crazy.
18 (82). PIT — Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa
Here’s where the Steelers give a nod to the O line. Calloway is underrated, and there are even some rumblings that he might end up a better player than teammate Bryan Bulaga.
19 (83). ATL — Amari Spievey, CB, Iowa
With only two picks in the first three rounds, Atlanta has to address the pass rush and cornerback with their first two picks. Spievey is another underrated Iowa player who was a shutdown corner in the Big Ten.
20 (84). CIN — Joe McKnight, RB, USC
The Bengals have very little depth at RB behind Cedric Benson. Bernard Scott needs help if Benson goes down again. McKnight is super-versatile and adds another dimension to a stale offense.
21 (85). OAK — Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
Fast, athletic guard who will run well at the combine. What else do you need to know?
22 (86). GB — Myron Rolle, S, FSU
This might be one of those picks that people hate, but Rolle is a smart player at a position of need who might be getting less hype than he deserves because of a year away from football… to study at Oxford.
23 (87). PHI — Vladimir Ducasse, OT, UMass
Andy Reid loves large linemen. Three times fast now. Seriously, Ducasse can really help solidify this line.
24 (88). BAL — Jerome Murphy, CB, USF
Another guy that some people seem a lot higher on. I think he’s got the tools, and he seems like a solid fit for the Baltimore defense. They need CB help in a bad way.
25 (89). ARI — Jared Veldheer, OT, Hillsdale
Arizona has shown a slight affinity for small school guys with big upside. Veldheer can help fill the possible hole at LT.
26 (90). DAL — Andre Roberts, WR, Citadel
The Cowboys have room to upgrade at WR, and Roberts might be a perfect fit for them. Just have to hope he’s a big enough name for Jerry.
27 (91). SD — Carlton Mitchell, WR, USF
The Chargers love big receivers with more potential than production. Mitchell is 6-04 and fills a need in case the Chargers thin out at the position this offseason.
28 (92). CLE — Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota
Yes, there are much bigger needs, but Cleveland has a lot picks this year, and Decker might prove to be everything they were looking for when the drafted Brian Robiskie.
29 (93). MIN — JD Walton, C, Baylor
John Sullivan really struggled replacing Matt Birk. His run blocking was subpar at best. Walton is a talented guy who should keep Brett Favre’s hands warm.
30 (94). IND — Brandon Lang, DE, Troy
Good fit for Indy here. They’ll obviously need a successor at the DE spot. The Saints had way too much time with Freeney on the bench. He fits their DE mold.
31 (95). NO –CJ Wilson, DE, East Carolina
The Saints also need help at DE. They’ll lose at least one starter this offseason, and Wilson is very underrated in my eyes.
*Washington used their third round pick in the supplemental draft.

Solid Broncos Picks around, good mock
If the Steelers go S in the second or third round, Nate Allen will be the pick. Once the combine comes around, Allen likely will test very well, and he never misses a tackle. He has extremely good coverage skills- enough that he could possibly play CB. Also, he’s not from south Florida- he’s from Cape Coral, which is near Ft. Myers, the hometown of Deion Sanders.
On the other hand, whoever picks Jerome Murphy will regret it. He’s going to have some of the best combine numbers of all the CBs, but he was the worst player on USF’s defense last year, and in one game, he had three personal fouls for hitting out of bounds and hitting (way) after the whistle. He just doesn’t have the mental makeup needed to be anything more than a warm body in the NFL.
Jason Pierre-Paul will wow the dumber teams, like Oakland, with his athleticism. That said, he was really good for USF last year, and with good coaching can be the next freak DE in the NFL. He’s huge and amazingly athletic, and seems like a worker. He could put up some huge sack numbers once he gets more coaching (only one year in major football, and only 4 years overall).
Are you aware that DT Marvin Austin from UNC is returning to for his senior year? Also, you forgot Oakland’s second 3rd round pick they got from NE. You just forgot the pick altogether cuz you only got 30 picks in the 3rd round…. Oh, And Dunlap is a 2nd round pick at best…
Dingle Dangle out……
returning for senior*
Iowa’s Spivay was a shutdown corner in the Big 10, good size and speed…should go somewhere in the 3rd round…what are your thoughts here?
i gotta say man… first three rounds were very good… you know your stuff… keep it up, i have a new favorite draft site
