You’ve been busy, haven’t you…I’m familiar with some of these players, so I’ll give you feedback on those.
-Tebow. He’s too big and talented not to play in the NFL. Not convinced he’ll be a great QB, but has the physical tools to do just about anything.
- Benn. I could see as a freshman he was special…rare combination of size, speed and athleticism. Beyond that, he’s a gamer and that’s what you have to love about him.
- Mays. Niner fans are agog over him…and rightly so. SF hasn’t had a real playmaking FS in a long time. This guy has Pro Bowl written all over him.
- Spikes. Looks like head of the class in what should be a banner year for ILB’s. Believe he may be related to Niner’s Takeo Spikes.
- Sneed. Agree with everything you said about him…he was very impressive against Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl.
- Dez Bryant. Reminds me a lot of Rashaun Woods…a fellow Cowboy many thought was a can’t miss NFL WR, but he turned out to not have the heart for it.
- Colt McCoy. He made a believer out of me in last year’s Battle of Red River. He outplayed Bradford and willed his team to win one of the best college games of the year. Reminds me of a bigger Jeff Garcia.
- Dwyer. He defines “gamer”…runs hard and fast, and wants the ball in the 4th qtr. Whoever he plays for in the NFL will love this kid.
- Bradford. I totally agree he’s way overrated…reminds me of Marc Bulger, a QB who’s a couple of big hits away from being taken down a peg or two.
- Herzlich. Shows all the traits of becoming a very good NFL OLB. No doubt benefitted from a DL that featured Raji and Brace, but still looks to have the goods to succeed at the next level.
- Kindle. Should benefit from Orakpo being in the NFL…should be one of the ‘Horns star players. Have seen his name associated w/Niners on some mocks.
- Cody. Another guy Niner fans are drooling over…my biggest concern is his weight. If he can control it, he should be a monster NT, and a guy who could catapult SF’s defense to the next level.
- Chancellor. I hope they keep him at FS…if so, he’ll definitely be a 1st rounder. Terrific size and athleticism for a guy that big. Should be another “Beamer Ball” alumnus to have a great NFL career.
- Best. He’s one of those guys you think is too small…but anytime he has the ball you’d better surround him with half your team because if he slips through, he’s gone.
I know everyone is down on Clayborn this year but he is one of the top three athletes on Iowa’s team and I’m sure the NFL Combine will prove this out….expect to see him go in the top 20-25. Every team Iowa played this year “game-planned” around making sure AC was accounted for on on practically every play. With week Iowa LB play, he was asked to stay home a lot..play short zone and flat pass coverage …etc. He can play both a 3-4 and 4-3 DE way better than Watt who looked slow against TCU. Yes, he looked tired when playing agianst the spread pass teams when Iowa had poor LB play (with very few 3 and outs). AC was on the field at least 1/3 again as many plays as he was as a Jr. with Angerer and Edds filling all the gaps.

Urbik strengthened his status at the Senior Bowl and I am surprised there has been no mention of him as a top 1-2 guard…
